More About Us…
Our founder and president, Tristan, has resided in Bucks County for 26 years — 18 years nurtured by his pet-loving mother, Luanne. Tristan has always cherished pets, especially dogs, despite growing up with cats (Rinny- Rin Tin Tin & Pumpkin). Tristan started working with a professional pet sitting business in 2008 and ‘learned the ropes’ from an experienced pet caregiver. When that pet service became larger, and Tristan was no longer needed, he decided to start his own pet service to connect with his clients differently— so that’s what he did!
We have the professional know-how to catch you a one in a million pet-sitter who connects with you and your pet. We annually attend a training conference to keep up to date with the ever changing pet industry. You can request the same professional every time and, if possible, your pet will be cared for by someone he already knows and trusts! Offering consistent care means you won’t leave, or come back to, a stressed or unhappy pet, and you can get back to ‘business as usual’.
While You Were Out
· Licensed and Bonded
· PSI Member
· Certified Professional Pet Sitter
San Jose native and owner of While You Were Out, Kerry “Alex” Vierra, has over 12 years in the veterinary care industry. For many years she worked as a doctor’s assistant, then as a surgical nurse, and most recently as a neurology nurse at the most respected specialty facilities in the Bay Area. This experience in both general and specialty practice gives her a unique and valuable skill set in caring for animals who require special medical attention and/or post operative care.
While You Were Out has been an idea since 2005, finally coming to fruition at the start of 2012 fueled by Alex’s inclination for entrepreneurship and, most importantly, her passion for animals. While You Were Out offers a variety of services benefitting both pets and their people, including dog walks while you’re away at work or on vacation, trail adventures alongside the Los Gatos Creek, doctor prescribed physical therapy session, and more. With Alex’s expertise, not only is While You Were Out able to identify situations that need medical attention, such as a pet in distress and administer complicated medications, but we are comfortable working with all breeds. Owners feel relieved knowing their pets are safe, in good company, and enjoying themselves with the While You Were Out team.
Alex lives in Willow Glen with her partner, Jaime, their seven year old daughter, Izzy, and their two rescue dogs, Ella and Ruby.
How we’re different:
· Over 12 years experience in the veterinary care industry.
· Completely tailored services, specific to your pets needs, including post-operative care.
· All breed inclusive!
