Give Your Dog Walker a Christmas Tip!
Over the holidays, why not give your dog walker a little bonus for all of their hard work? Leaving them a tip in a card on the kitchen counter or under a magnet on the fridge is a nice gesture to show your dog walker how much you appreciate their efforts. It is a subtle way to show them that their love and devotion to your animal has not gone unnoticed.
Dog walkers work hard to ensure regular exercise for your dog, while teaching them to interact with fellow animals and humans along their travels. Although interpersonal skills are not typically thought of for animals, having a happy and friendly dog is important to a household. For instance, when visitors, especially those with animals of their own, come over you want your dog to understand how to interact appropriately and not become hostile by the new bodies in your home. This skill is taught not only by the animal’s owner, but also by its dog walker. Getting a pet out into the world, in dog parks or just around the neighborhood, can expose your canine to more things than it would playing in your backyard.
Another reason why your dog walker deserves a holiday tip is because they are there to walk your dog during weather conditions that are not typically appealing. Although your dog may love the snow, bundling up for a brisk winter’s walk can be a hassle for some dog owners. Often times, dog walkers handle multiple animals at once. This can be physically taxing and sometimes stressful for the walker. Nevertheless, your dog walker is always there looking after and loving your canine, ensuring their emotional and physical well-being.
So when should you give your Christmas / holiday bonus? Usually, it is appropriate to give the tip either the week before or after Christmas, depending on how regularly you see you the dog walker. No matter when you give your dog walker a little something special, it will be appreciated.

Pamper the Dog Walker Who Pampers Your Pet
When it’s time to buy Christmas gifts, make sure to put your favorite dog walker on the list. Your dog walker makes your life easier. If you didn’t have the help, your precious pooch would be bouncing off the walls, driving you crazy with all the pent-up energy.
What’s the best gift for the person that gives your dog so much love and attention? Here are a few tips to get the ball rolling.
Walking a dog is a physically demanding task. The activity puts wear and tear on the legs, arms, feet and back. That’s why a gift certificate for a relaxing massage makes an excellent gift. Make sure the gift certificate is enough to cover the entire massage, and not just a portion of it. Otherwise, your dog walker might end up with a hefty bill at the end of services.
If there are no massage services available in your area, you can still take the gift certificate route. You can buy a gift certificate to a store that sells athletic shoes and sports clothing. Your dog walker will appreciate being able to buy a new comfortable pair of walking shoes. They might even choose to buy some comfortable t-shirts and sweat pants. All of these items are available from stores that cater to athletes. Your dog walker can get an entire outfit and new shoes with your generous gift.
Perhaps you feel that gift certificates are too impersonal. In that case, why not buy your dog walker a nice scarf or jacket? It gets pretty cold out during the winter, but the dog still has to go out. A cozy jacket and warm coat will surely be appreciated.
A certificate to a nice restaurant makes a good gift as well. Everyone appreciates good food. Give your dog walker a certificate to a restaurant they enjoy. Without being too obvious, try to find out your dog walker’s favorite restaurant. If you can’t get their favorite place, then try to find out where they’d like to go, but haven’t been. That’s your ticket to treating them to the perfect dinner.

Take Your Dog on Vacation & Hire a Dog Walker
Vacations are an exciting time for the entire family. From the initial planning to making lists and packing the car, the family is looking forward to a change of scenery, a new environment to explore, and a relaxing holiday from the chores of domestic life. One member of the family is likely less than thrilled at the prospects, however.
The family dog is often left out of the fun. It is shuffled off to the local boarding house or left alone at the home with someone to come by once a day for feeding. You might have considered taking the family pet along for the enjoyment, but there are several hurdles.
- Is there room for the dog to travel safely in its carrier?
- Will the dog be able to accompany you during activities?
- Are there facilities at the destination for your dog’s required exercise and potty time?
There is no getting around the first question. Safe travel is a must. Other logistic problems may be solved with the help of DogWalker.com. Whether it’s a last minute thought or a routine need, you’ll find people who care about your dog to help with this important chore for reasonable compensation. A dog walk is the perfect time to eat out at a nice restaurant or visit some other location where dogs are not allowed.
Making a Great Match
You wouldn’t have just anyone watch your children, and the same goes for your furry friend. Some walkers specialize in small pets, and others prefer giving personal attention to larger breeds. When looking for a walker, be sure to specify breed, size and demeanor as well as your location and the dates for which you’ll need services. Other helpful information will speed up the process, such as advance booking and references from your dog’s current walker.
